The high-waisted curiosity

There are some fashion trends that I get excited about and there are some where I go "WTF?" and the high waist shorts, jeans, skirt or anything high waist is something more in between. The thing that I like about them is that it can cover those unwanteds (if you know what I mean). The down side is it can go the wrong way and show them all off, it depends on the fabric of the clothes. So I tried some high waist shorts to see how it goes.
1. The denim, it looks pretty hot but honestly a little uncomfortable. It just gets too tight when I sit down even though I got two sizes up, it still feels a little constricted.

2. The Faux Denim. I know what you're thinking it looks like its still denim but it really isn't. So that's the plus side. It looks like denim but its stretchable so you get the best of both world.

What do you think?
For me, I can't really say what I feel about them yet.
I have to get me some light wash high waisted denim from Forever21 ($24.90) for research purposes ofcourse.
Hopefully I can rock that too.
